Los alimentos vegetales con proteínas poseen estos nutrientes básicos, que en el cuerpo se descomponen en aminoácidos y estimulan el crecimiento y la reparación celular. Cuando se trata de proteínas animales, como la carne, huevos y lácteos, suelen ser altos en grasas saturadas y colesterol, pero no se necesita comer alimentos de origen a animal para obtener suficiente proteína, ya que existen fuentes de origen vegetal que la aportan.
